COMMENTS FROM PARTICIPANTS
Dear Friends,
We are adding comments from those who have attended Eber Christopher Workshops. We appreciate your feed back .
My wife and I both attended the clinic in Folsom, LA. I had recently purchased a trained reining horse that I needed to learn to cue correctly and my wife mainly needed work on her confidence. After working with Eber the first day, I discovered that either my trained reining horse was not as trained as I thought he was or I had "dulled" him to the point that he had forgotten his cues. We both made great progress and by the second day we were doing our spins like a pro. Eber gave me the confidence to gallop much faster than I had ever before. He showed me how to correct a few issues with his spin and improve his stop and lead change. I am hoping to begin showing next season.
As for my wife, she loved the clinic. Eber even had time to work with her to begin to teach her western pleasure horse to do the spin and rollbacks. Her confidence level increased greatly over the two days and she was all smiles in her gallop...something that she had been afraid to do before.
The clinic was unlike others we had attended before. This was my first clinic, but my wife had attended other clinics by well known trainers. Eber focuses on each rider evenly, never did he single one rider out and spend the majority of his time with anyone. He also worked on any and all problems each rider may be having no matter if it was related to reining or not. He provided alot of positive feedback and was everyones biggest cheerleader when we did right and was sure to let us know when we did wrong, but he also showed everyone how to correct the problems. His feedback and cirticism was put in a way that was positive and he never talked down to any of the riders.
I am looking forward to a follow-up. This time I will bring my reining horse the first day and then a 4 year old paint gelding who I am trying to train for reining. Should be fun.
Thanks, Joel Smith
Did you enjoy the workshop?
Yes, the workshop was fun as well as informative. Eber keeps things moving at
a fast pace and manages to help everyone regardless of their level of expertise.
Yes, I always feel like I walk away with a sense of accomplishment and new goals.
Yes, Yes, Yes!
Yes.
He is a very good instructor.
I thought the workshop was very good, I learned a lot.
I liked how I learned more the second day and improved a lot.
I thought the workshop was good. I learned how to stop my horse on her hind end.
I really liked how Eber took the time to talk to each and everyone of us! He helped me a lot with my stops.
I appreciate the workshop being tailored to solve each horses's issues. I'm leaving with a better understanding of how to solve my own mare's problems, but also learned a great deal from the others.
I would like to see more workshops in this area.
I learned enough in the first 2 hours to make it worth the money, however, I learned more and more as the 2 days progressed. I now have higher expectations for my horse and myself.
And from Lee.......Great workshop. The one on one is great.
Ken's cooking was the best, just too bad he has to spend so much time in the kitchen. The poor guy is in the kitchen cooking by 6:30am and is still cooking at the end of the day. Thanks for the help with my horses.
Did you understand the technique?
Eber is an excellent instructor, and he works with each rider adjusting his
instructions to fit their horse so they can achieve the objective.
Yes, Eber is really good at explaining things clearly, and he gives good visuals, which is how I learn best.
Yes-now I just have to remember it all!
Yes, Being able to practice with supervision helps to apply what we were shown.
He will continue working with you until you understand and the horse has the technique.
I loved how each person and horse were individually "treated". My horse and I now have a greater understanding of what we're doing.
Did you accomplish your goals?
Yes, not only did I accomplish my goals, but I improved in many other areas as well.
Yes, I feel like we took each of our maneuvers a step farther and I 'm left with homework to help me accomplish the next step.
Yes, and then some.
Yes, as a beginner I accomplished much more than expected.
Yes, it was very helpful.
I loved the 1 on 1 work and I learned how to make my horse slide.
I have really learned a lot about how to get my horse to slide better and longer. It has been a lot of help.
